Dear Reed Parents, Teachers, and Community Members:
I am humbled being re-elected to serving as your Reed PTA President for my second and final year. I will be transitioning the reigns to next year's President-Elect, Emily Martin. I know that she will continue to build off all of our forward progress in being the best PTA in all of Allen.
Our PTA will be working throughout the year to bring opportunities for our members and their families to come together through several programs and events; BUT we cannot do that without the Parents and Teachers of our community stepping up to volunteer.
We have several opportunities for you to volunteer with little commitment, either on campus or at home. Many hands make light work, and all of our children will reap the benefits of being involved.
Whether you are new to the Reed family or have been part of the family for many years, I encourage you to give each child a voice at Reed and help us with programming and classroom assistance provided through your Reed PTA Membership by joining at www.joinpta.org.
We know that the past two school years have been less than normal, and our members have lots of questions and concerns with the ever-changing COVID precautions and mandates. Please know we are here to help PTA members with voicing their concerns to local, state, and national agencies to know that we are concerned about our children's health and safety throughout the year. We are the largest child advocacy group and would love for us to all be united together in one voice.
We look forward to meeting everyone at our meetings and events that will be happening with COVID precautions. We encourage everyone to maintain social distance and wear a mask at your discretion.
From our entire board we cannot wait to see you all at our meetings and events.
Kristina Herrin Starling
Reed PTA President
