October is filled with several fun activities culminating with our first ever PTA Trunk or Treat! Keep an eye out for the candy monster showing up on campus soon.

We need your help on October 13th to host a Baked Potato Bar with Halloween desserts for our Spooktacular Reed Staff! You can help by dropping off items, or by coming in person to help set up/clean up.

Spirit Night at Hat Creek

Wednesday, October 5th at 5-9pm

Take a night off from cooking and join Reed friends at Hat Creek on October 5th. Dine in and play with friends, or get it to go. Just be sure to tell them you are with Reed!

(Located at 555 E Exchange Pkwy. Next to Starbucks and across from the stadium.)

National Walk to School Day

Wednesday, October 12th at 7:15am

Reed Owls can gather at TWO locations and then walk to school together.

Meeting locations:

West: Reed Park (purple playground)
East: Covered tables at the tennis courts at the corner of Rivercrest Blvd and Allen Heights.

Every student who joins the Reed PTA before October 13th will get the opportunity to pie a Reed faculty member!

Book Fair Volunteers Needed

Wednesday, October 5th - Set up after school
Thursday, October 6th through Thursday, October 13th - Various shifts
Thursday, October 13th - Take down and pack up after school

*Students will preview the book fair on Thursday 10/6 or Friday 10/7. They can shop the next week on Oct. 10-13.

Poster Contest

The Pride Council is hosting a Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest! Your student should have a poster coming home in their folder, but you can also click here to open and print the pdf.

Use markers, paint, collage materials, or anything you have available to decorate and the Pride Council will pick a winner.

***Posters are due to Mrs. Gosdin by Wednesday, October 12th.

One of our BIGGEST fundraisers is the Online Silent Auction beginning on Black Friday. We are seeking donations of items, services and gift cards to auction.

The National PTA Reflections contest is back for the 2022-2023 school year! The theme for this year is "Show Your Voice!" Students who have at least one PTA member in their household are eligible to submit art entries in six different categories:

Dance Choreography

Film Production

Literature

Music Composition

Photography

Visual Arts

The contest rules and entry forms can be found at txpta.org/reflections-participation.

All entries must be submitted to the front office at Reed by October 14th.
